Motives of Ivory Veils - Sept. 30, 2010

Motives of Ivory Veils

I felt a rumor softly touch the air I breathe
Mingling in my exhale
Such a sweet sachet of fleeting mystery
Lost in motives, of ivory veils

Unassuming pleas of poignant measure
Quivered in each breath
Purifying with a gravitational pleasure
Unparalleled, in its depth

Melodious testimony rang within the rising
Of my lyrical express
Sang in tune, along a harmonious horizon
A masterpiece, no less

The rumors touched me with no hearsay
I had inhaled the truth
Found within the mysteries sweet sachet
Motives, of ivory veils of youth

Seeking Answers - Sept. 29, 2010

Seeking Answers

If I could only climb the highest mountain peak
Or quietly rest upon a jagged cliff
Perhaps I would find all of life's answers I seek
To all the what's, why's and if's

There I would sit for hours in total silence
Never uttering a word
Strongly taking hold of all my given patience
Waiting for answers to be heard

I would look into drifting clouds above me
Searching for a single sign
A picture to enlighten me of my destiny
I would surely seek to find

However, I cannot climb the highest mountain peak
Or quietly rest upon a jagged cliff
I have to live my life in the here and now and seek
Answers to all the what's, why's and if's

Within - Sept. 27, 2010

Within

I saw her standing there dressed to the teeth
Every shiny hair in place
Yet her eyes did not match the smile beneath
Pasted perfectly on her face

His shoes were worn and his cuffs were frayed
He could certainly use a haircut
However the smile he gave, my morning made
Changed my mind, so much

You know the Smith's down the street from here
Their big home is so beautiful
A lovely place to live on the outside it appears
So why are their eyes so dull?

Ms. Jackson's roof is leaking and falling in
I know you have seen her place
I wonder how she could be happy living within
Keep that glorious light on her face

Realization dawned on me, this I must confide
Outside appearances fooled me again
What is important is not what is on the outside
Only that which is carried within

Little Things Make Me Smile - Sept. 26, 2010

Little Things Make Me Smile

It is the little things in life, which mean so much
They are very quietly innocent
Like the wondrous feel of a clean bed sheets touch
Infused with an April Fresh Downy scent

Waking up startled at a quarter past eight
Jumping up straight from bed
Thinking worriedly that I am going to be terribly late
Remembering, it's my day off instead

Coming to terms, that to my name, I've not a dime
Accepting my usual penniless lot
Then there in the pocket of my faded jeans I find
A crumpled up, forgotten five spot

Sitting down now with my paper and pen
Searching for words to write
Thinking to myself, my mind has gone blank again
Then finding the ones, perfectly right

To win the lottery or an all expense paid vacation
Would be so incredibly nice
However, I will settle, for these small sensations
Any ole day of my life

Sigh of the Forest - Sept. 25, 2010

Sigh of the Forest

Resting on a fallen tree looking up into a shaded sky
At orange and yellow spectacles aglow
I faintly hear the ancient forest breathing in a sigh
Drifting to my wonder here below

A glistening dewdrop shudders in a crystal mesh
High above from a speckled leaf
Aching to just let go and begin its life afresh
Grasping for a taste of relief

I hear a lively rustling in a nest way above me
Joyful chattering of a tiny squirrel
If he knew, I was here now, listening to his glee
Such a hush would fall upon his world

A song of jubilation rings through changing leaves
Planning a journey to warmer climes
Singing winter is a showing, cold wind we will receive
Gather round all my family, it is time

Countless hours I have rested on this fallen tree
Looking up into a shaded sky
I too can feel a cooler breeze setting winter free
Along with the ancient forest I now sigh

Sometimes - Sept. 21, 2010

Sometimes

Sometimes, life feels like a rainbow, flowing in beautiful colors
Thoughts and ideas flow from me like a river washing clear to my soul

I find great joy and beauty in everything I see and hear and life is so good

Other times, life feels like a massive gray cloud, pressing down on my heart

Metin Demiralay

Squeezing the very life from me and obscuring my vision of all beauty

I despise these days and fight with everything within me to escape this gray cloud

Words of love and tales of fantasy are my escape, disappearing into a world of my own creation

Eventually that old gray cloud lifts and my rainbow comes back along with my cleansing river.

Life is good again and I can smile inside.

I suppose what I describe is the life of every poet or possibly just life period

Freely Captive - Sept. 18, 2010

Freely Captive

Her delicate hand holds a snow white dove
Captive and yet still free
As her grip is as light as the air he breathes
Flying over his sparkling seas

By her lovely side he sits for hours on end
Never moving a single feather
Happily content to be held in her delicate hand
Through even the stormiest weather

One could easily ask how such a wild creature
In captivity, could be so at ease
With wings that could take him to places unknown
On the simplest touch of a breeze

Perhaps his contentment lies in the knowledge
That he is always free to fly away
Knowing that the delicate hand that holds him captive
Will continue to love him anyway

Dancing Anew - Sept. 17, 2010

Dancing Anew

Round and round a blazing fire they dance
To untamed music set aglow
By beauty emanating from their almond eyes
Radiating gently from their souls

What fascinating moves, spun in grand majesty
Whirling streams of stark white linen
Flowing round and round bare legs of darkest brown
Revealing innocence, still hidden

Lovely gypsy maidens all adorned in flaming hue
Firelight spinning from their toes
You can feel their warmth within your heart
Dancing wildly to and fro

Remember when that untamed music ends
To hold it ever close to you
Recall the flaming beauty in their almond eyes
See their dancing start anew

The Raven Queen - Sept. 14, 2010

The Raven Queen

The Raven Queen came from simple country roots
No royal silver spoon did she carry
Raised by unpretentious witches holding great wisdom
Old Gertrude, Esmeralda and Tregarry

Three witches known as spiritual leaders of the valley
Of lowly peasants and abundant woods
Raised her up simply infused with a fiery spirit
Proclaiming the law of the land to be good

Two faces reigned within the leaders and peasants
One which was shown to The Law
The other kept hidden as they lowly bowed to the wind
Praising the moon and icy snow as it thawed

A tale of hidden woe these three leaders carried
Unbeknown to the Raven Queen
Of her true heritage and the tainted gold they kept
From the night Old Death intervened

Old Death quietly crept in on her birthing night
Stole her sweet mother away
Yet for a fee the wise leaders took her in to love
Knowing who she would be one day

An eager student their young queen became
Learning the wisdom of the truth
Quite an apprentice in the ways of the wind
She became early in her youth

All at once the fiercest Winter ever known to the valley
Brought in terrible winds and bitter snow
The young queen watched as the peasants trembled
As savage wolves entered their fold

Great hunger came to the valley along with Old Death
Dissension was called into play
Soon, each of the leaders knew the time had come
To teach her the dark side of their ways

She was pulled from light into the darkest shadows
To embrace her own true destiny
Her dark light shone through the woods and the valley
Bringing the savage wolves to bay

Fear of the Raven Queen's light spread from the valley
Coursing through the veins of The Law
Sending in fierce horsemen thundering with vengeance
Her own lifeblood they came to draw

She answered their thundering with her own call
Heads for heads, raging fire with ice
Saving the ones who took her under their wings
Returning their tainted gold at a price

In My Dreams I Go Home - Sept. 13, 2010

In My Dreams I Go Home

In my dreams, I travel places, far away from here
Where you and I run hand in hand
Full of laughter and midnight kisses under starry skies
In a turquoise ocean touched by ivory sand

Our turquoise ocean is filled with gentle waves
Sparkling under a smiling moon
Swirling slowly around our bodies as we dance
To our hearts, own blissful tune

This place of beauty held only in my dreams
I visit every single night
Knowing you will always meet me there
Underneath our smiling light

When I close my eyes and drift, off to sleep
My heart begins to roam
Hand in hand with you in our turquoise ocean
The place that I call home

Separately the Same - Sept. 11, 2010

 Separately the Same

Restlessly, he is sitting home all alone
Pulling one petal off at a time
From a flower he has safely hidden away
In the farthest reaches of his mind

With each petal pulled, he says aloud to himself
She loves me, she loves me not
An old childhood game he sits and plays
He thought he had forgot

Miles away she sits restlessly, home all alone
Playing that same old childhood game
He loves me, she says, as she pulls a petal
Then softly whispers his name

He wonders if she ever thinks of him
When she is all alone
She loves me not, he says, pulling a petal
Deciding, he should not phone

He is all she ever thinks and dreams about
Those nights she spends alone
Pulling off petals from that flower in her mind
Always praying that he will phone

He loves me, she loves me not
Pulling petals, in the game
She loves me, He loves me not
Separately, the same

Maiden of Lake Tyrian - Sept. 09, 2010

Maiden of Lake Tyrian

She first appeared from the vapors of Lake Tyrian
An apparition clad in azure mist
Shrouded in the sheerest veil of antique lace
Bands of burnished gold upon her wrists

She had wild champagne locks of untamed curls
Swirling down to her waist
Reaching out to caress gentle breezes
As if, to give pursuing chase

Her splendid feet completely bare of dress
Seemed to freely glide
Across the hazy vapors of Lake Tyrian
Her beauty held in pride

I felt no alarming fear inside my heart
Towards the lovely gliding maid
Until I saw slowly emerging from Lake Tyrian
A sword's glistening blade

My gentle heart skipped a fleeting beat
Swiftly freezing in icy fear
So afraid the lovely maid of Lake Tyrian
Would see me standing there

Watching the sword rise up into her delicate hands
My heart stopped in dreadful fear
Yet, as she had first appeared in the hazy vapors
The maiden of Lake Tyrian, disappeared

Aglow - September 08, 2010

Aglow

Heaven touched my face aglow with light
Kissed my cheeks with rays
Caressed my soul with a shimmering fire
That burned into my ways

I tasted illumination at its very finest
Upon the tip of my tongue
As Heaven touched my face aglow with light
My spirit softly sung

I lift my voice into the air and sing a melody
Softly spun with silken words
If you will listen with your heart and soul
My song of Heaven can be heard

Heaven touched my face aglow with light
My spirit dances in the air
The joyful bliss that has touched my soul
My ways cannot help but share

Lake of Silver Glass - Sept. 07, 2010

Lake of Silver Glass

Elegantly drifting along on a lake of silver glass
Stunning visions grace my view
Of Weeping Willows hung with purple moss
Resplendent in their royal hue

A taste of crisp morning air greets my face
From lazy clouds slowly rolling in
I can hear the softest splash from a lily pad
As a bullfrog's day begins

Gliding by the hollow reeds, I hear whispering
Calling out, pick me and let's play
A song of sentiment to capture every heart
Listening to our lovely cabaret

Up ahead in the distance, I can barely see
The sandy banks of my shore
Yet I never wish to leave my lake of silver glass
Why can I not just stay here forevermore?

Burning Embers - Sept. 06, 2010

 Burning Embers

A quiet affection pulses deeply within
Smoldering fire in your eyes
Burning embers of glowing persuasion
Lifting hope, I hold inside

Honesty I sense in boundless measure
So tenderly offered up to see
Each time you hold my gaze with your own
You melt the heart in me

You thrill my soul when you caress me
With your smoldering gaze
Persuading my heart to hold you near
Until my end of days

My hope is wholly lifted each time I see
Tender love and honesty
Blazing in the burning embers of your eyes
Gazing gently back at me

Cleansing Storm - Sept. 05, 2010

Cleansing Storm

When fiery lightning strikes those cloudy skies
You can hear the crashing thunder
Resounding echoes across a spinning world ablaze
In weary hearts so filled with wonder

Legend holds grand acclaim for its cleansing power
Proclaiming infinite tributes of ensuing grace
Affirmed with no need ever of words or questioning
By the marvelous look there on your face

Radiant crystal particles are motivated by a unity
Methodically altering a gloomy day
Sending down a melodious sight for sore eyes
To chase all your weariness away

An uplifting stimulation wonderfully inspiring the soul
Striking impulses into your inner core
Magnificently cleansing you inside and out
Vigorously, as the rain pours

No Fear - September 04, 2010

No Fear

We are living in a time of immense transformation
Evolving with our Earth at lightning speed
Tremendous change is ringing in the air we breathe
Often times planting a fearsome seed

Every occurrence, moving in these winds of change
Is safely wrapped in the arms of love
We need not have any fear of the changes we see here
Flying in to rest upon the wings of a dove

We are able to rise to the challenges we meet
Carrying a wealth of strength inside
Setting a fine example by displaying a still tranquility
Into the empty fear that change provides

Open up your glorious hearts with overflowing love
Reflecting all the joy you know is here
Reach out your extended hands to everyone in need
Showing change, need not bring fear

Your Sun Will Shine Again - Sept. 03, 2010

Your Sun Will Shine Again

Do you remember what you said that day
How terrible you felt inside
When all those clouds of disappointment
Blew into your lovely skies

Your life could not get any worse
To yourself you sadly said
Because your glorious sun no longer shone
While lightning crashed ahead

Your teardrops fell like rain that day
Unnoticed in the downpour
Torrential streams from the blackest skies
One had ever seen before

One day your sun returned to shine again
Winds of disappointment changed
Your flowing tears glowed into a radiant smile
As your life's direction rearranged

Now here you stand, downcast once again
Black cloudy skies moving in
Never give up looking for that sun of yours
To shine through those clouds again

Hands of the Wind - Sept. 02, 2010

Hands of the Wind

I softly close my eyes inhaling the wind in adoration
Strokes of heaven brush my lovely face
Splendid, satisfying streams of the touch of angel wings
Have surely come to greet me in this place

My flowing hair of silken ebony is lifting in the breeze
Reaching up to touch the hands of the wind
Adoring the strokes of heaven, brushing every strand
Welcoming each touch, again and again

Slowly opening my eyes, of the deepest emerald green
I look to find the face of the wind
Yet nothing do I see, but the briskly falling leaves
Adoring the strokes of his hands

I must take my leave, from this lovely wind I so adore
Leave his strokes of heaven in this place
The briskly falling leaves, have all taken him from me
I can no longer feel his hands on my face

Dance of Spontaneity - Sept. 01, 2010

Dance of Spontaneity

Luminous passion flows quite magnificently
A dance crying out to be heard
Persuading your spirit to honor the motion
So sweetly, as it stirs

A remarkable immersion of inspiring sensation
Uncovers a welcoming glance
Softly held on the face of the persuaded spirit
Who hears the cry of the dance

Gratifying spontaneity demands your attention
Be delighted by the cry that is heard
Inspiring the spirit to gently whirl and spin
To a lovely music without words

Beautiful effortless moves of revealing delight
Are honored without any question
By the spirit who hears the lovely persuading music
Of the dance of spontaneity's suggestion
