Curving Waves of Dawn - Nov. 14, 2010

Curving Waves of Dawn

We tried to feel the warming flame in the curving waves of dawn
Never had we given evening the love of our faces
Our arms of passion closed and withdrawn
Seeking warmth in future places

Within our wishes we held alone more love than precious angels
Together our voices could create a flooding melody
Alone, we waited for dawn to propel
A warmth, into our need

We believed we were empty shells, waiting for the dawn
Blank faces floating in the evening cold
Distancing ourselves from the most beautiful song
Together we could have sang as in old

We could not feel the warming flame in the curving waves of dawn
Because the warmth was held in our faces
Back to back we sought the warmth of a song
We sang separately together
In different places

If you and I would turn around and look into each others eyes
Create this melody together as our song
Perhaps we could feel the warming flame that never dies
And stop waiting for the curving waves of dawn
