It's A Small World

There is a dream in the back of my mind
Of a tomorrow in that hopeful place
Deep down inside the heart of me
Where peace has a face

A dream of peace and harmony
An end to all unrest
Where love is shared by each and everyone
No longer to be repressed

Our world has become a smaller place
Language barriers are virtually removed
We share the small things important in our hearts
And relationships have been improved

We have special friends in distant lands across the sea
Once strangers impossible for us to meet
We are reaching out and holding hands
Touching minds and changing hearts
And the face of peace I do foresee

Faith - Belief In Things Unseen

She bows her head in prayer
Every chance she gets
And prays for a world
She is afraid God will forget

She wonders as she makes her plea
To the Lord above
If anything she says is heard
And if there is still love

She freezes for a moment
In her doubt and anxiety
And dwells upon the state of things
In this world she sees

She wonders if God still cares
Or has He grown tired of our unrest
And if her prayers will fall on deaf ears
Or will they still be blessed

But she keeps in mind that there is always hope
And she recalls her belief
And prays and prays with all her heart
For God to send this world relief

One in Love
True Love does not have an opposite
Yet many think that it is fear
It is more powerful than anything you will ever feel
And is the air that surrounds you here

Everything that exists no matter in what way
Good or bad, powerful or weak
Appears and lives among this love
And one with it will be

To choose to not be one in love
Is not possible nor does it make sense
This I cannot separate from
Nor will I ever hence

These times we live in
Often make it easy to forget why we are here
We must see that we are one in love
As love is what brought us here

Tears of Joy

Tears of joy are different tears
Than those brought on by pain
Yet the emotions wrought in the soul
Are very near the same

These tears are felt as deeply
And as strong as their counterparts
As they purify and renew
Precisely the same heart

The beautiful thing about tears of joy
Is that in their shedding this they bring
Your grief and pain are scattered
As in your heart healing rings

Empty Boxes

Some people are like empty boxes
That have been wrapped in beautiful paper
And tied with lovely bows
You size them up and shake them around
To try and determine what is inside
There you find a beautiful empty box

Some people are like the crushed boxes
That the mail delivery system has damaged
Their packaging is torn and creased and often dirty
But inside they are packaged so well
And all of the contents are there and intact
And those contents are so very beautiful

Follow The One

This path that I'm on I walk alone
Don't get ahead get behind me
I reach my destination
With the One in my heart to guide me

You speak of the wisdom of ages
And say what will be will be
While inside you a battle it rages
And your confusion is as deep as the sea

You offer a hand to lead me along my path
When you don't know your own way
I walk alone on this path I'm on
And follow the One to whom I pray

Run Through

My shield and sword I keep with me
By my side each day
Ever ready to face what comes
To meet me on my way

A band of warriors by my side
With the greatest care
Fighting unseen foes on all planes
By lifting up their prayers

Iniquity comes and it will aim
To break a heart that's true
But a warrior on the righteous path
Will its wickedness run through
