I release you from my grasp
Feel free to fly away
You have grown and changed so much
Time has slipped away
Once you needed me for everything
And I was always there
But now you've come into your own
Independence you've declared
Spread your wings and fly from here
You no longer rest on me
Go out and learn about the world
Be what you want to be
If ever you get tired of flying free
Or have nowhere to go
You can fly right back to me
As I already miss you so
