Silence Speaks
Have you ever lied
When you didn't say a word
Did you think it made a difference
Because it wasn't heard
Did you think that your silence
Didn't speak for itself
And it would put aside the truth
High upon a shelf
Our silence speaks in measures
Way beyond compare
When we don't speak out
Against things that are not fair
When we're holding back the reality
Of what we really think
We could be pushing someone over
Who is standing on the brink
Perhaps we think the truth
Isn't for the best
But when we silently convene
The truth we do arrest

Perhaps silence at times is better than the words that can hurt.

Silence sometimes is golden... but then when we don't speak out against injustice our silence is wrong. Well done.
Yes, silence is better than hurtful words but silence kept that causes more or new hurt is even more painful.

Wisdom is here ; the old worry-- whether to keep silent---or speak out ,and when---Knowing when silence will cause more pain than words spoken-- There are three things to consider before speaking : Is it true ? ; Is it necessary ? ; and important ; Is it kind ?
