April 17, 2010 - I Took The Moon

I Took The Moon

I reached up and caught the moon
And took it home with me
Placed it in my pocket and walked away
Thought no change it would bring

I felt so proud to have obtained
Such a lovely jewel
Absolutely free at no cost to me
But I was such a fool

When I ran off with the moon
I broke the heart of the sea
As the tides no longer knew what to do
And didn't want to be

The Earth cried as it began to be pulled
Way too close to the Sun
So much chaos began to reign
I had no idea what I'd done

The stars all went out one by one
They no longer wanted to shine
Without the face of their beautiful friend
Who smiled on them oh so kind

So I took the moon back and placed it high
Where it's supposed to be
Such confusion I created by taking
What doesn't belong to me

Powerful message done in such a creative way. We have no idea what chaos will be wrought when follow our own selfish desires.

Wow!Very cool! Wish I could write like that, but sadly I have a deficient rhyme gene. its such a crime when you can't rhyme....
Cheers, and keep it up
