May 05, 2010 - Myself

 Myself

See the misted windows tinted gray
From ashes of the fire
Enveloped by the blowing wind
Of all that I desire

Thorns of feelings passed away
Prick the heart of me
As I look through the tinted glass
To see what I can see

I saw moonlit nights I walked alone
Beside the roaring sea
While looking for the world I knew
The place that I should be

The answers then I thought I found
As plain as plain could be
But looking through the tinted glass
I saw myself set free

With such joy and elation felt inside
I opened the window wide
No longer looking through tinted glass
I found who I was inside

My vision no longer tinted in gray
I could finally see
That the only place I need to be
Is where I can be me

It is a very beautifully expressive and simply articulate way of saying you need to "just be yourself".But there is often a facade we hide behind, and the desire to impress others, that keeps us from being ourselves and allowing others to see the real person that we are. And a lot of times we just don't 'understand' who we are deep down.
But for you Neva, with each heartfelt poem, you reveal to us so much of who you are at the deepest level, and I(we) appreciate that very much!

Neva, You use words, as a painter uses paint on a canvas. You create masterpiecs all the time!!!
