Restless Spirit
Take this restless spirit that I hold
So deep inside of me
Calm and soothe and make it rest
Teach me how to breathe
Slow my mind down from this pace
Enable me to see
That all this constant running
Steals my peace from me
Show me how to just be still
And listen for awhile
How to take a rest from everything
Sit quietly and smile
Take my wandering heart and make it still
Just long enough to find
What I seek and need the most
To gain some peace of mind

Brave lady Neva may the peace of the Lord be with you and in you and may you have that inner peace at the right time for you that passes all human understand.
A feeling of restlessness is conveyed with every line of this poem of an inner struggle. Time to contemplate. Think intently and at length and all will be fine
Like Movenon, I pray for inner peace from God, that has nothing to do with circumstances, but all to do with who He is and the love He gives us. Hugs, Jonie
INCREDIBLE!
I wish I could follow this wonderful advice! My mind is ever restless and wandering! No peace.
Great write, Neva!
What can one say, except that the beauty of this poem reaches down inside my heart and moves it so.
When are you going to publish a collection of your poems Neva? Another beautiful piece of poetry.
Kate, I am just about finished with a book of my poems. Should be through and out within the next week.
