Lose Me
You admire this strength I have inside
The strength you see in me
How I stand my ground and not give in
But do you understand how this came to be
Do you have any idea what I have put myself through
To become the woman I am today
The scars I have upon my heart
Is how I got this way
My self-respect is something that I hold dear
I keep it close to my heart
The standards and values I have set for myself
Are such, that from them I cannot part
I've been through a lot of heartache
To become the me that I'm supposed to be
If I ever forget what I have learned
I stand to lose me

Beautifully said ; bottom line-- You are the woman you see in the mirror, Wonderful acknowledgment of that--We can hide from others, but when the doors close , we live with ourselves..
