Inhibitions - June 09, 2010

Inhibitions

The chains that bind have shattered now and rusted clean away
No longer will they hold your life or you
As droplets formed upon the grass, they have dissipated
Leaving freedom's bell to ring so clear and true

Look yonder to the great blue skies and spread your tiny wings
Soar high and free upon the whistling winds
Journey far away from here and discover who you are
While learning how to exist in your own skin

Perhaps you will learn as days go by and hold this truth to you
Those chains that bound you never did exist
Except only in your mind, along with your inhibitions
And the views, which you have now dismissed

A day will come when you may fly right back here to me
Perhaps you will gently light upon my hand
Stay with me for a while and watch me proudly smile
As you fly off, with your life at your command
