Messages In A Bottle - June 04, 2010

Messages In A Bottle

I send delightful messages in bottles to the one I love
Across a boundless sea that exists only in my mind
Such lovely words I send him every single day
However, my heart wonders if these messages he will find

Tender words of love inscribed by my heart's pen
So lovingly written in a crimson shade of red
I write them every day and watch them float in the wind
So like my heart, sweetly drifting away

I rest upon the burning sands of a shore I have created
In my yearning heart's eye so very long ago
And I wait to hear back from the one that I love
Just to know that he loves me so

I want to run in the sunshine, plunge into my sea
Yet, I sit and wait to hear back from my love
And I wait and I wonder if he ever thinks of me
As I give another message in a bottle, a gentle shove

I will walk down to the shore tonight, and look for any bottles, if there is no message inside, at least I will be able to get some money back on the recycling.

I hope you get a message soon,

I have found many bottles over the years. The only message I ever saw in one had somebody else's name on it....

A very touching and caring poem. One that can be true for all of us. We have all lost someone special, either through death or by a relationship ending. The love you lost because you chose to take a different path, only to regret later on.

I can identify 100% with this moving poem, I am permanently on the same shore Neva.
