Call of Love's Embrace - August 10, 2010

Call of Love's Embrace

What calls to you in the loudest voice you have ever heard
Sending waves of tingles down your spine
Lifts your spirit to a realm of heaven here on earth
Rushes all around you in whispers so divine

What can swiftly bring you to your bended knees
Send your spirit soaring through the air
Lift your tender heart to places you have never seen
Strip your precious pride completely bare

What can make you want to change your life's direction
Look deep inside yourself with honesty
Embrace a life that carries a precious meaning
Open your eyes wide and truly see

Love calls you in the loudest voice you have ever heard
Rushes all around you in whispers so divine
Lifts your spirit to a realm like you have never seen
Sending waves of tingles down your spine

Love will swiftly bring you to your bended knees
Make you set aside your precious pride
Embracing you with a life full of honest meaning
Sweetly changing who you are inside

Oh, yes, love can, in all its forms. As I read the first three stanzas, I could only think of the swell of emotions I experienced standing at my daughter's side and holding her hand as she brought my grandchildren into the world.

Very beautiful Neva, as always. You have a magic with writing, so touching with words of emotion. Much enjoyed reading this. Love SHOULD do all of this, when balanced....just wonderful!

evocative discussion of the ebb and flow that knocks you over I have posted two poems this week. On not saying hello is new but Kingpin Baby was posted up on a quiet Sunday so I thought I’d give it another outing. Both are adaption of different formal poetry forms – pantoum and sonnet.

The complexities of writing in these set forms is to carefully choose the lines that must be repeated, and you have done that to great effect. It impresses on you the varieties of love and how it sustains us through our life. Lovely poem, well written. Thank you.

Beautiful and true. This verse really touched me:

"Love will swiftly bring you to your bended knees / Make you set aside your precious pride / Embracing you with a life full of honest meaning / Sweetly changing who you are inside"

Many thanks for sharing this.
